Does anyone know? Downloading order data...

Does anyone know why alveo would suddenly download order data during the middle of a trading day?  It happened a few minutes ago, and unfortunately it said download of data failed, so then the system froze and I had to get out, log back in.  Then when I got back in, the trades that were profitable that I was trying to close with no longer profitable and so I missed an opportunity.  

Just trying to figure out how to avoid this in the future.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any ideas?  Thanks!

It happens and has been for many weeks now; NOT your fault. Apiary is having glitches with its service provider, as I understand it. At least that is what they say. But now I'm getting emails on that class of error. On the other hand, the download failures or order data I believe to be Alveo/Apiary's server fault. That's my view, and I'm sticking to it. LOL.

not anything on your end. Apiary goes down for me everyday at asian open for up to an hour. ongoing for months. Saul the tech says working on it

I went into downloading data mode about 5:15 MST and it froze there. I logged out and tried to go back in 3 times and I get the message that I need to contact Apiary support to authenticate my log in. I called the number and the only available support is the on - line daily Zoom. I tried another computer and the same thing. I have sent an e-mail to support as well.

This is why I don't agree to trainers dynamically layering. In draw-down and intra-hour? On Alveo? It's death! We never know when and how long we'll be disconnected making intra-hour trade management very unstable. Certainly wobbling trade management unstable. I literally designed my current trading strategy around Alveo disconnects. I'm still trying to understand the logic of somebody that want's you to have 85% accuracy (scalping) hour by hour (Trading Room) and then throws you a broken platform (Alveo). Anyway if I use longer term trading (like Rex J.) Alveo disconnects have little effect. Just don't use trailing stops. But maybe Apiaryfund's point is we're not supposed to wobble, we're just supposed to want to and watch Shawn do it.

Ya know, Mike, it took me a little while (as I did not know you), but I'm increasingly appreciating your input on these posts! You cut to the chase and call issues out as you see it. I respect that!

when this happens contact support and give them the order numbers and attach the log file and they can likely fix your account

i have noticed this a lot at the rollover of the clock either 8pm or 8 a.m. its not your fault and it didnt use to happen. its an alveo problem that i know they are looking to fix

This issue is not rocket science. If the IT folks of Apiary are true pros, then this should be resolved quickly but it's not. I should know, as I worked at GM and depended on EDS. And I'm damned pissed about it now. What is Apiary's IT malfunction? Or is this a choice to shut down trading during turnover hours like 12:00 GMT? If it is, then at least say so. I would understand. But do not waste my time. Geez! This is getting very old.

everyone I wouldnt bother with sending any log files to support,it wont do any good. I talked to saul the tech guy in person at the wobble boot camp in oct and on the phone about Alveo going down at asian open for hours. He does not know whats wrong just says same thing "server overload" or "I will let IT manager know" This is not effecting everyone so maybe not a priority I dont know. If I may ask does yours go down everyday like mine or only sometimes?':

Everyday, Asian open, 10 min to 1.5 hours. today is went down 40 mins ago again and still down.
I dealt with IT too everyday for weeks, he logged into my comp, we tried everything including me working on their systems using a VPN. this is going on like 8 months already.

Maybe it needs a vaccine LOL

I think you're right. It's not affecting everybody, I never see it lasting hours. I see it rarely and when just for some seconds.
