Hurricane Michael and Internet Access
Hurricane Michael and Internet Access
I live in Tallahassee, Florida. Hurricane Michael arrived on October 10, 2018 at about 2:30 p.m. EST. I had 4 or 5 filled trades in process when I lost internet service abruptly. My internet service was out for three days. I lost hundreds of dollars because I could not close out these trades.
It seems to me that there should be some 'hurricane warning protocol' so that traders know what to do when an "Act of God" occurs.
What does the trader do when all electricity is lost? What does the trader do if cellphone towers are downed?
Is there anything that traders should do or can do in these circumstances to avoid monetary losses?
