I Feel Like a sucker

I have been funded since December 2018. I am yet to earn a cent for all my hard work. Everytime I make some progress, Apiary shatters my hopes. Why you ask! Well their 5% limit on DD is the problem. Everybody has bad trades. So why close all the bad trades with the good ones. Does not make sense. It is as though they dont want me to earn any money but continue to take my $65.00. I might just save that money and trade my private fund. For all my learning and all the training I just seems not to be going anywhere fast. I am just frustrated with Apiary and might just call it a day with them. I lost today with Apiary but made money on my private account with the same trades. Go figure.

I agree, having a 5% margin call does add to the challenge. My MT4 account has a 70% margin call ;)

Peace,

I don't agree, if you're losing 5% in a day than you're trading too large of size or too many positions. And, if you have 5% down days you must have 5% up days too, yet you've never earned a cent? If you have over all good trades than just trade small size until you make a little every month, prove that and they'll increase the size of your account. Try to grow your account through consistency of trading not through capital gain.

Why are you trying to make dollars out of nickels and dimes? Just trade the Apiary account minimally for a few years and get increases. Then maybe go for dollars.

I'm with Samuel on this. The most important thing that I have learned from Apiary is Risk Management. Although the risk protocols bite you in the ass they save you from blowing up the whole account

Properly using risk management is the most important factor long term. if you want to be a successful trader you must learn how to control your risk. Apiary has a 2% per trade and 5% per day rule. Understand it is alot harder to come back from big losses then small ones...and I may sound like a broken record but if you have a 10K account and you go down 20% you need a 25% gain to get it back...Think about that.

Moreover, to get larger increases Ron wants to see you manage your risk properly, he does not care about how much you make.

Boss...You stealing my lines....lol

I knew I picked that up here somewhere. It makes sense that it was you, Allen.

Well, except to say... there is a very big difference between being down 5% and being forced into taking a loss at 5%. A larger margin means you can potentially lose more but it also afforded the flexibility on having time on your side. There have been countless times when I'm down more than 5% in my MT4 account but I'm still consistently making more than 10% a month in the account.

Now don't get me wrong, it's Shawn's money so he gets to set the rules. The 5% margin rule was one of the first things I learned about when I started with Apiary. I trade in my Apiary account and two MT4 accounts. But I have to trade all three accounts differently to be profitable.

Peace,
Greg

I thank all for their comments. Sometimes you have to take the bitter medicine which in this case is the bitter truth. I have made changes to what I do and have had some success this week which has put me in positive territory.

ramohed,

I saw your topic and couldn't help but instantly remember this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6m49vNjEGs

It's called How the rich get richer. It says yes they do take from the poor and give to the rich. And that's called Capitalism. The government will make new rules, that's fine to the rich, the rich just wait for it and see how they can game it to keep rich. Even private banks are making their own money now, and are more like casinos. This is a new world. THE KEY: learn whatever rules you have been given, and then game them. That's how the super rich stay rich.
