Introducing myself as a new trader

Hi

I am really happy to be part of this community.  I've been on a trading course some years ago but due to work commitments did not manage to get into it.  I believe that the apiary fund is the right way to go and I am looking forward to working myself through the levels.  One thing I need help with is support/motivation so if anyone wants to offer a helping hand I would be grateful.

Looking forward to working with you all.

Jill

In the beginning it's not about winning. Just keep the lot sizes very small so you won't have to be concerned about depleting your account. Concentrate on learning all you can, Trade regularly to develop it as a habit. Expect to have losses. The idea is to learn and to improve your skill until the odds are working in your favor. If you have questions, ask for advice in the forum. If you need to call tech support, they're glad to help, but the forum is better for helping with motivation. Do you have a psych degree for the HR? Statistics courses are relevant. My psych degree is from Leicester. Best wishes.

Hi Jill,

I am about to move on to Gold I. I am not going to lie it has been a bumpy road for me. I almost quit because I felt like it was too much trying to learn how to trade and work my job. But I think the hardest thing was my psychology. I am learning to be a lot more discipline and resilient. Never give up, even when you think you are not doing good, once you keep pushing yourself you will have a breakthrough.

@jill and @terra,

You both are to be commended for perseverance. Trading is tough. The emotional control of any trader is not easily conquered. However, you're in good hands at Apiary. There are great teachers and mentors. Much experience has already forged ahead of you, from which you can learn from various pitfalls and recoveries.

If you're struggling, I might encourage you to slow down. What has been working? What has been failing? Are you keeping statistics? Can you look at your past with an objective perspective and learn from it?

Keep asking questions. You'll find some great answers.

Keep pressing forward!
