Mac Book Pro setup with VirtualBox running Win7

I am successfully using a Mac Book Pro. I have VirtualBox (a free VM solution) and I run Windows 7 in two monitor configuration for Alveo.

No issues.

I am thinking of doing this also! Thanks for posting.

Any details on how to make it work? No success.

@Ace1 I'm going to attempt this now using an older MacBook Pro and Windows 10. Once i get it set up, I will post step-by-step instructions.

I have a MacBook Pro (Retina Early 2015, Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM) and installed VMware Fusion, a product similar to VirtualBox. I then added a "virtual machine" using a Windows 10 Pro media (CD/DVD). My MacBook Pro is running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. Fusion installation seemed straight forward from what I remember. Once that was done, I just installed Alveo in the Windows 10 virtual machine. I remember having problems with Alveo sometimes not starting with an older release. I was able to start it the first time but subsequent starts failed. I had to reinstall Alveo. The latest Alveo rev seems to be more stable and I start, exit, and restart fine.

You can run a trial version of VMware Fusion:
Retail is ~$80

I haven't tried virtualbox which has a great price point, $0.

BTW: I can sense a bit of a lag in Alveo's performance but not enough to affect my trades. I haven't installed other s/w in the Win10 virtual machine so performance is dedicated to just the OS and Alveo.
